When you find someone as unique as Nicki Minaj, you put a one-of-a-kind ring on her finger! That’s exactly what rapper Meek Mill did, proposing to the “Starships” singer after two months. Nicki then took to Instagram to share a photo of the enormous, white-and-yellow, heart-shaped rock with fans.
The singer captioned the snap with a series of emoticons, including yellow hearts, a ring and loved-up smiley faces.
According to experts at 77 Diamonds, Nicki’s ring features “a rare, fancy, vivid yellow central diamond that looks to be approximately 15 carats.”
“Set in a double halo of white diamonds, this ring would be valued at around £337,000,” the jewellery house added. “With both Lady Gaga and Nicki now sporting heart shaped diamonds, expect to see them everywhere this year.”
Fine diamond expert Lewis Malka, however, explained why heart-shaped rings may not be as popular as other shapes for some couples.
“Finding the right shaped heart is not as easy as you may think,” said Lewis. “Getting the proportions right from a rough to a polished diamond all depends on where the inclusions are. In addition, you lose a lot of the diamond during the cutting process, for this reason not many are made in the first place.”

Super Bass star Nicki first sparked rumours of an engagement when she posted a photo on Instagram of herself and Meek enjoying a night out. Eagle-eyed followers were quick to comment that the 32-year-old was sporting a ring on that finger. "Those Miami nights," she captioned the snap.
A few hours later Nicki teased fans with a message on Twitter that included ring and diamond emoticons and the note, “I’ll post it later.” Keeping her promise, Nicki later shared a close-up of her new bling on Instagram.
The hip hop artist was previously in a long-term relationship with record producer Safaree Samuels, but the couple split at the end of 2014 after 12 years.
