Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich make first appearance following engagement

A week after Julianne Hough revealed her dazzling five-carat diamond engagement ring on Instagram, the Dancing with the Stars judge stepped out with her new fiancé, Brooks Laich, at the Television Academy Cocktail Reception for Outstanding Choreography in Los Angeles.

Dressed in a chic, one-shoulder tea dress with a blue-and-white floral pattern, Julianne and her Canadian beau looked the picture of happiness as they posed for pictures on the red carpet. The happy couple announced their engagement on Aug. 18 after what the Footloose star reveals was a very low-key proposal. Writing in a blog post, the 27-year-told shares, “We were at home … We stood on the deck, watching the sun set over the lake and listening to our favourite songs.” She goes on to add that she was so shocked to see NHL star Brooks down on one knee, “I completely blacked out! I didn’t have any words. All I could do was explode into his arms and experience pure joy from head to toe.

We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiancé #love

Julianne isn’t the only Hough that is a fan of Brooks. The dancer’s older brother, Derek Hough, told Hello! that his future brother-in-law is a “phenomenal guy. He’s a dude’s dude. He’s a guy’s guy.” He also believes the lovebirds are “a perfect match.”

It might be hard for the stars to find time to plan their dream nuptials, given that Julianne is busy preparing to star as Sandy in the live television production of Grease and Brooks is gearing up for another season with the Washington Capitals. In the meantime, fans can look forward to more adorable red carpet appearances by the loved-up spouses-to-be.
