Allison Williams credits ‘The Bachelor’ for her marriage to Ricky Van Veen

Life imitated art for Bachelor super fan Allison Williams, who found her own Prince Charming while watching loved-up hopefuls vie for their chance at a happily-ever-after onscreen. The Girls star revealed during an appearance on The Bachelor Live that she met her husband, Ricky Van Veen, at a viewing party for the hit dating show. “I would not be married to my husband if it weren't for this show,” she told to host Chris Harrison. Given the fact that their rosy meeting was such a success, Ricky felt it fitting to propose to his lady love during another viewing party. “He proposed to me on my friend’s couch!”

While many of the Bachelor contestants don’t make it down the aisle, nothing could stop Allison and Ricky from saying “I do” in September 2015. The couple tied the knot during a romantic ceremony at the Brush Creek Ranch in Wyo. Wearing Oscar de la Renta, the bride said her vows in front of a star-filled crowd that included Tom Hanks, who was the service’s officiant. The actress’s full-length gown featured a nipped-in waist, demure high neckline and long sleeves. The bespoke dress was finished with a floral overlay and flowing veil.

She later admitted that she looked to the Duchess of Cambridge's Alexander McQueen gown for inspiration when planning her big day. "Who didn't?" Allison told Us Weekly. "[It was] just perfection."

Shortly after the nuptials, Allison shared the first images from her special day on Instagram. In one snap, the star is seen walking hand-in-hand with her groom, who is the founder of the popular comedy website CollegeHumor, while in the other she shows off her lace veil.
