Beyoncé shows off dramatic new pixie haircut

Singer Beyoncé chops off long hair into a pixie cut, and shares photos on Instagram.

Super stylish Beyoncé has shocked fans by chopping off her long luscious hair in favour of a bold new pixie cut. The 31-year-old pop star posted several pictures on her Instagram on Wednesday to show off her brand new look.

Wearing a floral top, gold chain necklace and minimal make up, the songstress is pictured debuting her dramatic crop, which perfectly highlights her incredible bone structure and seducing eyes. It is the first time since the beginning of the "Crazy in Love" star’s career that she has had such a drastic hair change.

She normally just experiments with the colour, moving between light brown hues to various shades of blonde.

She still had her long locks during a performance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on Monday.

Despite being one of the music world’s biggest stars, the down-to-earth singer decided to cycle along the Brooklyn bridge to her concert, casually dressed in denim cut-offs, aviator sunglasses and a white trilby hat.

She then delighted fans by welcoming her husband on to the stage for a performance of "Bow Down" and "Tom Ford."

Beyoncé — who has one-year-old daughter Blue Ivy with husband Jay Z — is set to release her fifth studio album later this year, and has already has teased her fans with snippets from songs including "Grown Woman" and "Standing on the Sun."

She has also recruited several celebrity friends to accompany her on her new album, collaborating with Missy Elliott, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Beyoncé will soon say a big goodbye to New York and take her world tour across the pond to the UK’s Hyland Park in Chelmsford on August 17, before returning to the US on August 31.
