Zac Efron 'clean and sober' after stint in rehab

Zac Efron quietly completed a stint in rehab five months ago, according to new reports.

The 25-year-old High School Musical star allegedly checked into a rehab facility for a serious cocaine addiction, while also dabbling in molly or MDMA, a pure form of ecstasy that is popular at clubs and raves, according to a new report by TMZ.

Other, conflicting reports suggest Zac was battling an addiction to alcohol.

The actor’s problem reportedly “spiraled out of control” while filming the comedy Neighbours with Canadian Seth Rogen in Los Angeles last April. The news may come as a shock to fans, as the former teen idol is known for keeping a low-profile and is rarely seen out on the Hollywood party circuit.

Now clean and sober, the young actor is said to be moving on with his life and is focusing on his movie career.

Zac was in Toronto earlier this month to attend the Toronto International Film Festival gala presentation of his new film Parkland on Sept. 6. He was later seen celebrating at the Grey Goose party at the Soho House with co-stars Colin Hanks and Tom Welling.
