Zac Efron breaks his silence, thanks fans for support

Zac Efron has spoken out for the first time after it was revealed that the actor had completed a stint in rehab earlier this year.

Thanking fans for their support, the High School Musical star shared a serene photo of himself perched on the famous Machu Picchu ruins. He captioned the snap: "Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks...means the world to me. Love you guys!"

The picture prompted an outpouring of inspirational comments from fans.

"Well done Zac! I Will support you all the way! I know you can do it!" said one commenter.

Zac looks happy and healthy, and seems keen on keeping it that way. The star reportedly checked into a rehab facility in late August to treat a cocaine addiction, but has been clean and sober since.

The 25-year-old actor recently made an appearance at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, where he attended the premiere of his film Parkland. The film is slated for release on Oct. 4.
