The Bachelor recap: Victoria is sent home for drunken shenanigans on week two

Nude photoshoots, a wine-soaked meltdown, and lots and lots of drama: It’s been an interesting first week in The Bachelor house.

The dates: For his first one-on-one date, Venezuelan heartthrob Juan Pablo treated “daddy’s girl” Clare to an over-the-top, winter wonderland-themed night out, complete with ice-skating and fake snow. Afterwards, the 32-year-old hairstylist from Sacramento revealed she already saw herself falling for her "future husband."

In stark contrast, fun-loving Kat was whisked away on the second one-on-one date to compete in a 5-km “Electric Run” in Salt Lake City, where she and Juan danced (and jogged!) alongside hundreds of neon-clad exercise enthusiasts.

Is a strenuous workout a good idea for a first date? Probably not, but we’ve got to give Juan Pablo points for creativity – and kudos to Kat for taking it all in stride.

The ‘nude photoshoot’: The fun really began on the group date, in which the girls were made to dress up in bizarre outfits (and bikinis, of course) to benefit Models and Mutts, a dog rescue organization.

District attorney Andi was less than thrilled about being chosen for the nude shoot, but she perked up considerably once it was revealed that Juan would be posing in the buff as well.

The meltdown: “If Juan Pablo just happens to be mine, I’m going to straddle him every day. Because that’s what life is about. Straddling people and things,” slurred Victoria, as she ran around the bachelor house in her bathing suit after “several glasses of wine.” The boozy Brazilian spent the next few hours crying in the bathroom and screaming "I just want to go home!" before producers set her up in a hotel room to sleep it off.

The next morning, single-dad Juan sent the 24-year-old packing, explaining: "I don't think it's right for me to be involved with a woman who can't handle herself."

What about Canadian cutie Sharleen? Amidst all the chaos, our homegrown bachelorette, Sharleen (who received the first rose last week) got just enough airtime to apologize for her frosty demeanour.

As the Bachelor later explained in a blog post: “I didn't have a date with Sharleen this week, so I was happy to have some time to talk to her. She definitely didn't need to apologize for how she waited to accept my rose last week. I'm just getting to know her, and she's just getting to know me.”

And it looks like we’ll be seeing even more of the Ottawa opera singer next week, as Sharleen and Juan are seen getting hot and heavy in the teaser!

The next episode of The Bachelor airs Monday, June 20 at 8 p.m.
