Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may be postponing their May 24 wedding

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are learning that it isn’t easy to plan a wedding, even if you are one of the world’s most talked-about couples.

Due to French law, Kimye will reportedly have to be residents of France for 40 days before they can tie the knot in the European country, which sets a fairly large obstacle in the way of their scheduled May 24th nuptials.

The French Embassy in Washington, D.C. confirmed the legal hurdle, stating “All marriages must be performed by a French civil authority before any religious ceremony takes place. The mayor can authorize the deputy mayor or a city councilor to perform the ceremony in the town in which one of the parties to be married has resided for at least 40 days preceding the marriage.”

The cherry on top of what seems like a bureaucratic nightmare sundae: “These requirements cannot be waived,” reports the French Embassy.

Not even a glossy, ‘nuptial bliss’ spread in Vogue magazine is enough to keep up with the Kardashian-West French mariage.
