Topless Scout Willis walks around New York City to protest Instagram's no-nudity policy

Scout Willis caused quite the stir on Wednesday, May 28 when she walked around New York City’s streets completely topless.

Her bare-chested promenade was in protest of Instagram’s nudity ban, which has Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s 22-year-old daughter up in arms.

"Legal in NYC but not on @instagram," she tweeted along with a photo which shows the star shopping for flowers wearing only a skirt and no shirt. "What @instagram won't let you see #FreeTheNipple," she added, along with another semi-clad snap.

The actress had her account suspended last week for violating Instagram’s super-strict, no-nudity policy. According to Instagram's terms of service, "You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or sexually suggestive photos or other content."

Instagram is owned by Facebook, which has a similar policy for censoring content deemed inappropriate.

And when it comes to celebrities demanding the right to bare all, Scout is in good company. Rihanna, who had her Instagram account suspended in January for posting a photo of a magazine cover in which she appeared topless, tweeted in approval:

“.@Scout_Willis Is protesting Rihanna's Instagram ban and looks hot while doing it. #FreeTheNipple.”

Other celebrities who are said to be backing Scout's cause — which is garnerning quite a bit of buzz on Twitter thanks to the #FreeTheNipple hashtag — include Miley Cyus and Cara Delevingne.
