Sandra Bullock’s 10 best quips, quotes and witticisms

Sandra Bullock recently won the Spike TV Guys’ Choice Award for a “Decade of Hotness,” but she's been beloved for her wit for much longer than that.

No matter the crisis or the occasion, the Speed actress seems to have a quip for every dull interview question and any acceptance speech. Here's how she recently quashed rumours that she’s dating Chris Evans in an interview on Entertainment Tonight:

“You guys are a little behind. We’ve since married and it started breaking apart, so we separated. We filed for divorce, and I hope everyone can respect our privacy. But we’re going to remain friends and share responsibility of the farm animals we’ve taken on, because you just can’t abandon the animals,” the Academy Award winner joked.

The self-deprecating actress certainly isn’t afraid to make fun of herself and she’s no stranger to calling it like she sees it.

Here are some of our favourite quotes from the 49-year-old star with many decades of hotness to come:

On bad advice: “Everyone told me to pass on Speed because it was a ‘boat movie.’”

On being a type ‘A’ personality: “I’m controlling, and I want everything orderly, and I need lists. My mind goes a mile a minute. I’m difficult on every single level.”

On the facts of life : “After a while, you have no idea how old you are because you’ve lied so many times.”

On how things are better when you don’t have to pay: “Free is the best. Anything free is good.”

On fatigue : “I’ve done all my tricks. I’m tired of myself.”

On dancing like somebody’s watching : “You can’t really dance properly to James Brown. If you dance to James Brown, you look like an idiot. There’s a lot of jerking."

On being a professional liar: “Sure, I’ve done movies in which I was embarrassed by my performance, or might not have cared for a co-star. Then I’d have to tell lies, like, ‘Oh, we love each other; everything was perfect!’”

On alternatives to traditional marriage: “Why is marriage the pinnacle for everyone? People get married for the wrong reasons. We need to start looking at different packages, whether it’s living together, or being with six partners, or dedicating your life to taking care of flowers.”

On self-awareness: “I’m aware that I can be annoying.”
