Hilary Duff has hinted that she and her estranged husband, Canadian hockey player Mike Comrie, could be getting back together.
"I’m separated from my husband right now, which has been a very difficult thing to go through, but we have a lot of love for each other and we have this beautiful baby," said the 26-year-old pop star in an interview with Billboard’s Pop Shop.
Hilary then revealed there’s a song on her latest album about her and Mike – “about my separation and my love for this person, that maybe we’re not meant to be together, maybe we are,’ she said, adding: ‘It’s very, very personal.”
Hilary, 26, and 33-year-old Mike tied the knot in a fairytale ceremony in Santa Barbara in August 2010, after dating for three years.
They called time on their marriage in January this year. A spokesperson for the Lizzie McGuire actress said that the pair "mutually decided [upon] an amicable separation.
“They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives,” her publicist told PEOPLE magazine. “They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time.”
They have remained on good terms since, with Mike even taking their two-year-old son Luca to the set of Hilary’s Chasing the Sun music video earlier this month.
