Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner has found love for the fifth time.
The 81-year-old construction entrepreneur married his 24-year-old love, Cathy Schmitz, in a fairytale wedding in Vienna surrounded by their closest friends and family on Saturday.
The bride, a German Playboy model who is known in some circles as Cathy “Spatzi” Schmitz, arrived by horse-drawn carriage to Schönbrunn Palace as a German marching band serenaded the happy couple.
The blond bombshell wore a beautiful ball gown by Atil Kutoglu, which featured a non-traditional purple skirt, while her groom – who is 57 years her senior – coordinated in a dapper tuxedo with a purple tie and a jaunty top-hat.
Cathy has a young daughter named Leonie, who watched her mother say “I do” in an adorable white dress with a matching purple belt and a glittering headband.
The bride wore a trio of spectacular looks on her big day. After the ceremony, the model changed into an all-white gown to greet her guests. Near the end of the evening, she slipped into shorter, sexier number to hit the dance floor with her new husband and her daughter.
Richard is a Viennese society figure who is famous for always paying a high-profile celebrity to be his date for the annual Vienna Opera Ball. Most recently, Kim Kardashian received $500,000 for the honour. Past guests include Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson and Dita Von Teese.
This is Richard’s fifth time down the aisle, with the magnate telling reporters, "Hopefully, this time it's the right thing.”
He added, "Apart from the big age difference, everything fits.”
The pair met in February this year and became engaged in August. After the wedding, Cathy took to Facebook to gush about her new husband and share photos with fans, writing, “In love, engaged, married!" along with a picture of her wedding ring. She later said the day was "an incredible and unforgettable experience."
