Angelina Jolie's children have a special effect: "I feel in contact with my mother"

As a mother of six, Angelina Jolie is as passionate a matriarch as she is an advocate of international human rights.

These qualities are rooted in her upbringing, which the Oscar-winning actress revealed in a recent interview with French Marie Claire.

“I feel in contact with my mother when I look at my children. I can feel her influence over me then,” Angelina said. “I see that my way of raising them resembles the way she raised my brother and I. It’s more apparent with my daughters Shiloh and Vivenne. Therefore, yes, my mother is there, present in this influence, all the time.”

Angelina’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, passed away in 2007 after a long-fought battle with ovarian cancer. The 39-year-old actress and director added, “[she] was very soft but could move mountains for her kids.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina have been shooting By the Sea in Malta, on what is also their honeymoon. The A-list couple wed on Aug. 23 at their chateau in the south of France.
