From the French “debutante” (or female beginner), a debutante ball or “cotillion” marks an upper-class teenage girl’s formal introduction into polite society.
For many aristocratic families, it’s a necessary right of passage; for Hollywood, it's a glamorous story arc that is almost too good to resist, with teen dramas like Gossip Girl, The O.C. and Gilmore Girls all featuring debutante ball-inspired episodes.
Off-screen, some of the world’s most elite children – the daughters of movie stars and A-listers – are also taking part in these lavish affairs (which also serve charity functions) alongside their blue-blooded counterparts.
This year, Jamie Foxx's model daughter, Corrine, will make her debut at the annual Bal des Debutantes at L'Hotel de Crillon in Paris on Nov. 29.
And Corrine's not the only child of celebrity to attend the formal fête. From Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ girls Tallulah and Scout to Sylvester Stallone’s daughter Sophia Rose, scroll through the gallery of celebrity debutantes below!
