FLASHBACK: 16 stars celebrating New Year's Eve

Out in the club, up on stage, girl's nights in or baking pies - celebrities toast the new year in so many different ways! And on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls this year, we'll have our own slew of stars fêting 2015 at ET Canada's live celebration: Keith Urban, Nick Jonas, Lights and Shawn Mendes.

And we won't be alone in our musical New Year's extravaganza. In an annual tradition dating back to the '70s, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve has hosted pop stars like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber in past years, and will see Taylor Swift, Elton John and more take the stage as we ring in 2015 with host Ryan Seacrest.

But splashy, televised events aren't the only way to go where A-list celebrations are concerned. Last year we saw a slew of girls nights in, from Taylor Swift to Selena Gomez, plus a Vegas DJ gig for Paris Hilton and pie-baking for Zooey Deschanel.

And personal milestones can steal the coming year's thunder when our favourite stars choose to get married or engaged as the ball drops. Kaley Cuoco famously tied the knot with Ryan Sweeting in a frothy pink dress at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Santa Susana as 2014 made its first appearance.

Kim Kardashian reminded the world of a pair of monumental events that surely made her 2013 one to remember as she rang in the new year in Utah, posting a simple picture of baby North’s hand holding her 15-carat engagement ring from Kanye West on Instagram.

But our favourite New Year’s snaps have to be Beyonce and Jay Z’s Versace-mansion affair, where the chanteuse was decked out in the designer brand’s iconic print and the couple drove off on a scooter to party-hop it over to Diddy’s CIROC bash.
