Amal Clooney, née Amal Alamuddin, became a celebrity almost overnight when she announced her engagement to Hollywood actor (and previously notorious bachelor) George Clooney last summer. The pair were married in September in a star-studded wedding in Venice that was covered exclusively by Hello! Canada – and since then, fans can’t seem to get enough of George's beautiful barrister bride.

However, it’s not just Amal's high-profile romance that’s won over the hearts of her adoring public – far from it. The human rights lawyer has earned praise for her keen intellect and impressive legal resumé, which includes seriously high-profile clients like Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, the King of Bahrain and, most recently, Canadian-Egyptian journalist Mohamed Fahmy, whom she is currently working to have released from prison.

Professional accolades aside – indeed, the list goes on and on – the brunette beauty has a wicked sense of humour. While representing Armenia in a high-profile genocide case last month, she cheekily fielded questions about her fashion choices with grace and charm. Appearing in the European Court of Human Rights, Amal was asked by a journalist which designers she was wearing for the appearance. “I’m wearing Ede and Ravenscroft!” she joked, pointing to her legal robes and referring to the company that created them.

On her off days, however, the 37-year-old stunner is always impeccably dressed, sporting designers like Prada, Oscar de la Renta and Dior. Yet, despite her fashionable appearance, Amal doesn’t employ a stylist. Rather, she personalizes her glamorous outfits with oversized sunglasses, funky shoes and, on one particularly notable red carpet, opera-length white gloves.
