Avan Jogia’s star is rising… fast! The Vancouver-born actor with an aura and good looks reminiscent of a young Johnny Depp burst onto the scene in 2010, playing Beck Oliver on Nickelodeon’s Victorious. The teen comedy also helped launch the careers of Victoria Justice and pop princess Ariana Grande.

Since the show wrapped in 2013, Avan went on to star in the short-lived mystery series Twisted and the chilling biopic Finding Home Now. With five projects set to premiere in 2015 , including the highly anticipated King Tut miniseries, it looks as though Avan’s 23 rd year will be his best yet.

“As an actor I try to chase good material,” Avan tells Glamoholic Magazine, “It’s not necessarily about being in the next big thing. If the character is interesting, they get under my skin and I can’t shake them, that’s when I know it’s something I would like to do.”

With this philosophy in mind, he signed up for some career-changing projects this year. First up, he plays Teddy, a young man searching for his family, in Ten Thousand Saints . The movie, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews, stars Oscar-nominee Ethan Hawke, Hailee Steinfeld, Emilie Hirsch and Emily Mortimer.
