Four months after Ryan Reynolds became a first-time father, the Canadian actor has been unanimously deemed a model dad by those who love and know him best. At the New York City premiere of his new film, Woman In Gold, Ryan’s colleagues, including director Simon Curtis, couldn't stop gushing about the 38-year-old star and how well he’s taken to parenthood.
“I can’t imagine a better dad than Ryan,” said Simon of the Vancouver-born actor, who was unable to attend the premiere. “He’s such a sweet, funny guy. He seems besotted with his new baby and I think he’ll be a remarkable father.”

In the film, Ryan portrays real-life Jewish lawyer Randy Schoenberg, who represents WWII survivor Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren) as she tries to reclaim an artwork that was looted by the Nazis.
Ryan’s gorgeous wife, Blake Lively, was secretly pregnant at the time of filming – which now seems obvious to Randy in hindsight.
"[We were filming] before everybody knew Blake was pregnant," he says. "Looking at [Ryan], you could see it in his eyes that, yeah, he must have known."

The lawyer added: "I think he's going to be a great dad … you could see him holding a baby, interacting with babies in the movie. And you could tell he was thinking about it."
Last month, Ryan appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk about daughter James, admitting that she’s got him “wrapped around her finger” while adding that fatherhood is “the best.”
It seems parenthood has brought him and Blake closer than ever, too. “When we had that baby, I fell more in love with my wife than I'd ever been in my entire life,” he further revealed in February.
