Single Jake Gyllenhaal has dates meet his mother immediately

It seem Jake Gyllenhaal is always being linked to a new actress (one in particular being Canadian!), but despite the cavalcade of rumours the actor, 34, insisted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he’s currently single.

Answering “yes” when Ellen outright asked him, Jake shot down the rumours that he was romancing both his Southpaw co-star Rachel McAdams and his Constellations co-star Ruth Wilson.

Jake and Ruth became close following their turn in a new Broadway play, and were spotted kissing after Ruth’s Golden Globes win in January. “Ruth and Jake were all over each other and didn’t seem to mind who saw them,” a source told The Sun newspaper, before adding: “They were holding hands and shared a little kiss, it was sweet."

In the months before Jake and Ruth took to the stage, he was also spotted dining out with Rachel McAdams, and the pair attended the Miguel Cotto vs. Sergio Martinez fight together in New York.

Jake dated model Alyssa Miller in 2014 and previously datedTaylor Swift for a few months, after which the pop star wrote many of her tracks for the album Red.

Jake also revealed on Ellen’s show that he takes his first dates to the same place every time – his mother’s house. “Well, one thing I always do is I always bring my dates to my mother’s house for the first date,” he said. “I think that’s a good move.”

He then went on to say that he trusts his mother completely, and that he would be open to dating a girl that she had picked out for him: “My mother believes, she thinks arranged marriages might be able to work. You know what I mean, like in a good way?”

He added. “She thinks that if she picked for me that I’d do a lot better.”
