Royal baby: Prince George’s 10 cutest faces from the Lindo Wing

When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, welcomed little Princess Charlotte on Saturday, May 2, fans were eager to see how her big brother, Prince George, would react when meeting his sister for the first time.

They were not disappointed. The chubby-cheeked 21-month-old melted hearts around the world when he arrived with Prince William to be introduced to the newborn. As his father beamed brightly, adorable George had a thoughtful and solemn look on his face.

After pulling up outside the Lindo Wing, William got out of his car and helped George out onto the pavement. It looked like plan A had been for the toddler to walk the short distance to the hospital steps, but seemingly startled by all the commotion, George – who kept his stoic expression despite all the hullabaloo – reached his arms up to his daddy, who scooped him up and carried him the rest of the way.

Encouraged by his father, the shy youngster waved to the crowds, who cheered and clapped to see two future monarchs greeting them at the same time. William paused briefly outside the doors to the Lindo Wing, talking to George all the while to reassure the little boy. He then gave his son a tender kiss on the head before they disappeared inside the hospital.

William went through the same experience when he first met Harry in 1984. The young prince arrived at the hospital shortly after Harry was born to say hello to his new brother, and the similarities between both of their expressions upon arriving at the hospital is quite striking.

Holding his father's hand as Prince Charles beamed widely, William, too had put on a rather serious – and indeed, very George-like – expression for the cameras upon learning that he was now a big brother.

Here, Hello! rounds up Prince George’s 10 cutest faces as he went to welcome his sister, the Princess of Cambridge, for the first time.
