Watch the first promo from Caitlyn Jenner's docu-series 'I Am Cait'

Caitlyn Jenner’s debut on the cover of Vanity Fair is the first step in an ongoing narrative that shares her lifelong struggle with gender identity, and we've just gotten our first glimpse at the next portion of her journey - a teaser for the eight-part docu-series I Am Cait, in which the former Olympian brings viewers along as she experiences life as a woman for the first time.

"We're out into the world," she says in the newly released sneak peek of the show. "It's so great out here." Caitlyn is shown applying her makeup for the day and admits that she wasn’t aware of the “pressure women are under about their appearance." Filmed at her home in Malibu, Caitlyn asks in the series, “How many people go through life and waste their entire life because they never deal with themself, to be who they are?” And now that she is free to be the person she was “born to be,” Caitlyn tells Vanity Fair that, “I’m just going to go and live life. I’m going to enjoy life. I have nothing left to hide.”

Since her reveal, the 65-year old has been showered with compliments and support from her family, fans and even President Barack Obama, who took time to Tweet, “It takes courage to share your story.” Caitlyn's mother, Esther Jenner, also shared her support, saying "I'm very happy for him - or her!"

Caitlyn's debut as the woman she's always felt herself to be was a long time in the making. Aside announcing her intentions in an emotional special with Diane Sawyer earlier this year, and sharing the experience of sharing the news with her family on the two-part special Keeping up With the Kardashians: About Bruce, Caitlyn underwent various surgeries to feminize her appearance and augment her breasts. When it was time to reveal her true self on the cover of Vanity Fair, "James Bond-esque" safeguards were put in place to keep the shoot top secret - with her stylist telling colleagues she was working with Barbara Streisand.

Bruce seems thrilled with the outcome, calling the photos "over-the-top great." We couldn't agree more!
