'Glee' cast members pay tribute to Cory Monteith

Two years ago, Hollywood was rocked by news of the sudden and tragic death of Canadian actor Cory Monteith on July 13. To mark the anniversary of his passing, Cory’s Glee castmates took to social media to remember their beloved friend.

Cory’s former girlfriend on and off the screen, Lea Michele, led a collection of somber tributes by posting a beautiful picture of Cory with the sun shining on his face. “Today we remember the laughter and joy you brought into our lives every day. We think of you always and love you so,” wrote the actress.

The pair had been dating for nearly two years before Cory died from an accidental overdose while paying a visit to his hometown of Vancouver. “There is an empowerment that comes with grief—at some point you find it. It's very hard but you will find it,” Lea told Ellen DeGeneres shortly after Cory’s death. “I think at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise. And that's what I'm just trying to do my best for him, because I know that that's what he would have."

Other Glee stars joined Lea by posting their own sentiments and notes of remembrance. “What I would do to have you back bro,” wrote Mark Salling, who has said that he considered Cory to be his brother. “This goofball…I can’t comprehend how it’s already been 2 years, when it sometimes feels like I saw you just yesterday. Miss you every damn day,” added Kevin McHale.

Matthew Morrison took a moment to pay his respects after attending Taylor Swift's show in Washington, saying, "Felt Cory rocking out with us! He loved his T.Swift! RIP CM."

Finally, Actress Jenna Ushkowitz kept her tribute short and sweet by posting a cast photo with the caption, “Miss ya, buddy.”
