Celebrity photos of the week: Amy Schumer, Sofia Vergara, Jake Gyllenhaal and more

While a slew of celebrities walked red carpets and appeared on TV to promote new films this week, others lent their star power to worthy causes. Promoting their boxing drama, Southpaw - which premiered in Toronto a few weeks ago - Rachel McAdams and Jake Gyllenhaal were fixtures about town this week. Rachel was spotted at a screening at West Hollywood's Pacific Design Center, while Jake hit the small screen in Miami on spirited host Karla Martinez's Despierta America (the host jokingly felt his abs, at one point!)

Comedy's "It girl" Amy Schumerdebuted the highly anticipated Trainwreck in New York at Alice Tully Hall, posing with costar Leslie Mann on the red carpet. The comedian, who touches down in Toronto for the Oddball Comedy Festival in September, has fast become the leading lady of hilarity, for which she has credited a slew of female comics who came before her.

Soon-to-be-newlyweds Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergaraheated up the Hublot dinner in Malibu, looking every inch the A-list pair. While they've kept mum on the details of their upcoming nuptials, Sofia's Modern Family costar Julie Bowen said it's sure to be a party to remember.

Hot on the heels of her Emmy nomination, Mad Men star Christina Hendricks, who can also be seen these days in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River, hosted Los Angeles Confidential's Women of Influence celebration in the City of Angels on July 14. Across the country, Uma Thurman stepped out on July 16 in New York to toast the opening of the American Museum of Natural History's Dino Tales and Safari Tales exhibit.
