Kristen Stewart discusses her sexuality in new interview

By Sarah Kelsey

Kristen Stewart isn’t afraid to stand up for herself, so she’s taken to Nylon magazine’s September issue to discuss some of the rumours that have been circulating about her, especially when it comes to her sexuality. It’s been reported that the 25-year-old actress is dating her personal assistant Alicia Cargile.

“Google me, I’m not hiding,” the cover star said. “I think in three or four years, there are going to be a whole lot more people who don’t think it’s necessary to figure out if you’re gay or straight. It’s like, just do your thing.”

The Twilight star continued: “If you feel like you really want to define yourself, and you have the ability to articulate those parameters and that in itself defines you, then do it. But I am an actress, man. I live in the... ambiguity of this life and I love it. I don’t feel like it would be true for me to be like, ‘I’m coming out!’ No, I do a job. Until I decide that I’m starting a foundation or that I have some perspective or opinion that other people should be receiving… I don’t. I’m just a kid making movies.

The Olivia Malone-shot cover shows the star rocking her signature glam-grunge look, complete with dark skinny jeans, a torn white T-shirt, a grungy tweed blazer and heavy chains. Disheveled hair, electric blue eye makeup and an ear cuff complete the look.

As part of the interview Kristen went on to describe her style and her preferred look. “I’m a skater… I’m not a hard-core skater chick — I can skate on the street. Skating around downtown might be my happy place.” She added that she receives a lot of free stuff, though most of it gets dropped off at Goodwill because it doesn’t fit her aesthetic.

We’re set to see more of the star in the coming months. She has three movies in the works: American Ultra, Equals and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
