'Lost Girl' star Anna Silk pregnant with her second child

Congratulations to Anna Silk and her husband Seth Cooperman! The Lost Girl actress announced on Twitter that she is pregnant with her second child. The happy news comes nearly two and a half years after the couple welcomed their son, Sam, in May 2013.

"Thanks for all the well wishes of love and support:) We are thrilled to be expanding our family:):)" she tweeted, along with a picture from a recent charity event where she showed off her growing bump.

It's an extra special time for the actress, as she is also celebrating the final episodes of her hit science-fiction drama, which kicked off its last chapter on Sept. 6 (Showcase). In July, Anna told Hello! that although she is sad to say goodbye to her Lost Girl family and its dedicated fans, she believes that the show "finished strong." "We had a great story this season," she adds, "I feel like Bo just skied in the last season and I really feel like we walked out on the last day of filming feeling so satisfied and we told the story so beautifully, and I hope the fans think the same thing and feel what we felt."

Since wrapping production on the series, the Fredericton native has been busy taking care of Sam and working closely with Plan Canada's Because I am a Girl campaign. The initiative, which aims to end gender inequality and promote girls' rights around the world, is extremely important to Anna and one through which she hopes to set a good example for her son.

Seth and Anna shared their first portraits of baby Sam in the pages of Hello! Canada in 2013.

Hello! Canada had the pleasure of joining Anna and Seth at home shortly after Sam's arrival and watched as the loving couple basked in the joy of becoming first-time parents. "Motherhood has felt pretty natural," said Anna, adding, "I have to say. I think there’s something in you that, when he starts smiling, I feel like, “He can never not smile! If anyone makes him not smile I will lose my mind!" (Laughs).
