Diary of the Week: Proenza Schouler, Art Toronto, Alessandro Sartori, Wayne Gretzky and more

To toast Holt Renfrew Men's first anniversary, the stunning mecca of menswear welcomed Berluti’s Creative Director, Alessandro Sartori, and an intimate group of power players for a three-course meal and some serious fashion. A Berluti trend presentation featured the must-have looks for spring 2016 while guests dined on a cumin-tinged gem lettuce salad, savoury crusted tenderloin and flourless chocolate torte.

Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez were the guests of honour at Hudson's Bay Vancouver's The Room, where the Proenza Schouler designer's wares are among the collection's coveted offerings (on display were pieces from fall 2015, plus a sneak peek at the resort and spring 2016 collections!) The gracious partners posed for photos and chatted with some of the more the 250 guests who sipped champagne and nibbled on hors d'oeuvres before a select few moved on to an intimate dinner at Bauhaus.

Food took centre stage this year at World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto - at least for one show! FLARE magazine and Metro found perfect unions in four chefs and four Canadian designers, treating well-heeled guests like Jessica Mulroney, Dina Pugliese and Suzanne Boyd to a lunch not soon forgotten. Alo mastermind Patrick Kriss found harmony between his beet salad and Matthew Gallagher's design, while Pai chef Nuit Regular saw her green curry as an extension of a CARAS number. The brunch launched the first ever Local Food & Fashion Trend Report.

David Drebin was on hand to celebrate his latest feat, Chasing Paradise, a collection of the photographer's moody, sensual photographs. The artist's light boxes and floor-to-ceiling prints transformed the NKPR offices into an immersive experience for collectors and influencers like Erica Godfrey, Lori Morris, Elise Kalles and George Stroumboulopoulos.

Also on the roster during a seriously jam-packed week? Actress Elisha Cuthbert, Dr. Sandy Skotnicki, designer Colette Van Den Thillart, marketing maven Krystal Koo and more joined host Amoryn Engel for a "salon" at the Shangri-La hotel, where Power of Prive, Bello Sound and Bobbi Brown joined forces with label Lysa Lash for a fashion show to raise money for Camp Ooch, benefitting children with cancer.

The VIP opening of Art Toronto was another hot ticket, taking over the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to showcase contemporary and modern art. And last but not least, hockey legend Wayne Gretzky brought his first ever collection of designs, an exclusive partnership with Sears, to World MasterCard Fashion Week. Appropriately named the No. 99 Wayne Gretzky Collection, the show drew the Great One's family and other notables, like former Bachelor Chris Soules.
