Exclusive: Sandra Bullock's motto on aging? 'Bangs before Botox is what I say'

By Dagmar Dunlevy

Sandra Bullock, 51, has made it clear that she can take on any role, from a gun-carrying beauty queen to a do-gooder Southern bell with a penchant for football, but her strength also transcends the screen. Following her divorce from Jesse James five years ago, the Oscar winner chose to relish the happiness of becoming adoptive mother to Louis, now 5, rather than fall apart. And she continues to conquer Hollywood with a big heart, great talent and a wicked sense of humour.

Sandra is happier than ever at 51.

In an exclusive chat with Hello! Canada, Sandra spilled on the secrets to her beauty. "It's tons of plastic surgery! It's a lot of liposuction," she says with a laugh. "Bangs before Botox is what I say. I'm wearing a really tight dress that's sucking it all in right now."

Having celebrated her milestone 50th birthday last year, the brunette beauty is certainly feeling as good as she looks. "I don't care anymore about so many things that I really cared about when I was 30," she says. "It makes me really care and focus on a few things that I absolutely love and adore." Chief among them all is Louis, who the doting mom sweetly calls " the most beautiful child in the world."

Sandra plays a brilliant strategist in Our Brand Is Crisis.

And though she's been wary of romance since adopting her son, the star says she's now open to the idea, and has been seeing . " I am not shutting it out. I just wanted a good five a and a half years to get my son to kindergarden alive. I said 'If I can get him to kindergarten alive, I'll feel successful' - and that's what happened."

Sandra can currently be seen in Our Brand Is Crisis, in which she plays a campaign strategist trying to beat an old nemesis in South America. She's reunited with best pal George Clooney, who produced the film, in a part that was originally intended for a man. "I wasn't reading anything I felt like leaving home for...then George and Grant [Heslov's] little project showed up and I said 'Would you guys be willing to change the role?' and they said, 'Sure.'"
