Since parting ways with Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson in March 2015, the pop star dropped the single “I Won’t Mind,” sat front row at Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2016 menswear show in Paris and appeared on the covers of Billboard, L’Uomo Vogue and The Fader. He was also one of the social media celebrities whose selfie became the cover of Interview’s September issue (other cover stars included Kim Kardashian West, Victoria Beckham and Selena Gomez).
Not only has Zayn mastered life in the spotlight, but at 23 he’s also learned some lessons in love. While his engagement to Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards ended last year, he’s since been spotted with model Gigi Hadid. The British singer hasn’t spoken much about their romance, though he revealed to Billboard that he looks for a date who can “talk about something political or about the world.” He also admitted that his mother’s recipes have come in handy. “I have about six of her signature dishes down,” he says. “I’ll pull them out for the ladies when I need to.”
Fans are still eager to hear more from Zayn (and keep up with his ever-changing hairstyles). When he chose to break away from his bandmates, he let fans know, “I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world.” Now, he’s getting ready to join the boys on the charts once more with his own solo material. “I’ll come down here and record maybe seven songs a night,” the L.A.-based star tells Billboard. “That’s because I’m enjoying what I’m doing…I love it.” It sounds like his star’s only going in one direction – up!
