Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth seem to be "picking up right where they left off," a source tells Us Weekly after the singer flashed her stunning engagement ring on Instagram. The 23-year-old singer and her actor beau called off their impending marriage back in 2013, but her most recent selfie prominently features the striking Neil Lane band – a 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond ring, handcrafted in 18-carat gold and featuring carved diamond floral motifs in an art noveau pattern.
The photo comes just a few weeks after Miley saw in the new year with Liam, his brother Chris Hemsworth and Chris's wife, Elsa Pataky, in Australia. Elsa shared multiple images of herself and Miley together on social media as the group partied at the annual Falls Festival.
Miley Cyrus uploaded up a selfie that prominently showed off her engagement ring.
The sighting sent fans into a frenzy, but big brother Chris remained coy when he was asked about the couple's reunion on the Kyle & Jackie O Show this week. "Not that I know of mate," he told radio host Kyle. "I would find out through the press. I find out last most of the time," he added with a laugh.
Nevertheless, Miley and Liam's romance seems to be progressing quickly. It is also being reported that they have decided to move in together, after the singer was pictured unloading boxes from a van at the actor's Malibu home over the weekend.
Miley and Liam started dating in 2009 when they met on the set of The Last Song, and they were together on-and-off for three years before announcing their engagement in June 2012. The couple decided to split in September 2014 – but it was recently reported that Miley had been hoping to rekindle the romance for some time now.
Miley and Liam Hemsworth split in September 2014.
"Miley never got over Liam. Despite them constantly fighting before the split, Miley always said Liam is the love of her life," a source told People.
"There were so many things that she loved about their relationship. They had a lot of fun and Liam was mostly very supportive of Miley. It seemed she was always hoping and dreaming that they would one day get back together again."
It seems the feeling was mutual. Speaking to Us Weekly, a source said of Liam, "He's never met anyone quite like her who has that hold over him. He realizes she was growing up and experimenting, he took a step back and gave her time to do that. Miley's always had a special place in his heart."
