Kesha thanks fans 'a million times over' for support during legal case

With her face swollen from crying, an exhausted Kesha broke her silence on Tuesday (Feb. 23) to thank fans for their incredible support amidst her legal battle against producer Dr. Luke and Sony Records. “I am beyond words in gratitude,” wrote the 28-year-old on Instagram. “Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. A million times over and forever thank you."

She continued the sentiment on Facebook, penning a long form letter to fans. "I'm so, so beyond humbled and thankful for all of the support I've received from everyone. Words cannot really express the emotions I've gone through reading and seeing how amazing everyone has been to me. I can’t believe that so many people all over the world took the time to show me support and love. Other entertainers who knowingly put their own careers at stake by supporting me, I will be forever grateful."

The singer's public statement of gratitude comes on the heels of an outpouring of support from fellow celebrities like Taylor Swift, Lena Dunham and Demi Lovato. While the "Out of the Woods" singer showed her support through a generous $250,000 donation to help with legal costs, Lena and Demi have used words to both encourage Kesha through this difficult time and educate others on the seriousness of the situation. The Girls star's powerful essay on the topic inspired Reese Witherspoon to voice her support. "Thank you @LenaDunham for helping me understand the #Kesha case and for standing up for all survivors of abuse," wrote the Oscar winner on social media.

Kesha filed a lawsuit against her producer Dr. Luke in Oct. 2014, saying that he has been abusive towards her since she signed with him at the age of 18. He has denied the allegations. On Feb. 19, a New York judge rejected the singer's request for a court injunction that would have allowed her to record music outside her record label. The star has been unable to make any new music for two years now because she refuses to work with the producer.
