Forget dinner and a movie, Carrie Underwood went supernatural for her 33rd birthday on Thursday (Mar. 10). The country star revealed on Instagram that her special day was spent "ghost hunting" in Scotland. Armed with some night vision goggles, a head flashlight and a "I aint afraid of no ghost" t-shirt, the singer proudly showed off her success as a ghost buster.
Later that evening the star uploaded another picture of herself standing in an area of abandoned ruins. "Awesome pic from our ghost adventures last night...That sky looks creepy! What an amazing birthday!” In addition to her spooky adventure, Carrie celebrated her birthday with her friends and family, including her son Isaiah, who turned one on Feb. 27.
And while her hunt turned up what looks to be a child wearing a sheet, Carrie's love for all things supernatural is unshakable. Earlier this month she appeared on an episode of The Walking Dead's after show The Talking Dead to fangirl over the hit zombie drama. And by the sound of it, the American Idol alum has her zombie apocalypse survival plan already all figured out.
"I know what you're thinking, but I was born to survive the zombie apocalypse. My husband bought me this zombie-survival kit for Christmas, I have a machete, I know how to use it. My songs are quite aggressive at times. I'm not afraid. I would know what to do. I was born for this," she told host Chris Hardwick.
The ghost-obsessed star sent shivers down our spine this week when she covered Whitney's Houston's classic ballad "I Will Always Love You" during a radio interview in Nashville. The star has performed the song several times before but there is something hauntingly beautiful about the radio edit.
