Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes 'welcome their second daughter'

Surprise! Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have reportedly welcomed their second child together, a baby girl named Amada. The happy news comes a few weeks after reports surfaced that the couple were expanding their family. According to TMZ, Eva gave birth to her daughter on Apr. 29 in Santa Monica. Eva has previously spoken about the importance of the moniker – "Amada was my grandmother's name. It means 'beloved' in Spanish," the actress revealed in 2014

The fiercely private pair has yet to comment on the baby news, and if their first experience with parenthood is any indication they will shield Amada from the spotlight as they have done with their 20-month-old daughter Esmeralda.

Like this pregnancy, they managed to keep their first pregnancy a secret for several months, with an insider explaining that Eva simply didn't want anyone other than her close friends and family to know.

The arrival of Amada is sure to be a source of great happiness for Eva and her family, who are mourning the loss of the actress's brother Carlos. The 53-year-old passed away from cancer shortly before Amada's birth.

Eva and 35-year-old Ryan started dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines. Despite their desire to keep their relationship private, Ryan did open up to Hello! Canada about his longtime love last December.

"I know that I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with," he sweetly said, before adding that the only quality he looks for in a woman is "that she's Eva Mendes. There's nothing else I am looking for".

News of Eva's second pregnancy broke the same day that it was revealed Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had another baby on the way. They too have yet to confirm or deny the pregnancy speculation. Come Wednesday (May 11), all eyes will be on Blake and her growing bump when she walks the red carpet at the premiere of her film Cafe Society during the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival.
