Blake Lively has declared that she and husband Ryan Reynolds are "officially breeders." The loving couple are already parents to one-year-old James and will welcome a son or daughter to their family later this year. Parenthood is clearly top of mind for Blake and Ryan, who both come from large families.
"I'm one of five kids. My husband is one of four, so we're officially breeders," she joked during an appearance on TODAY. "You can go on our website and we will give you some of our children."
After taking some time to adjust to motherhood, the actress is making her return to the big screen in the upcoming thriller The Shallows. The film sees the star fighting for survival against a relentless shark who stands between her and safety.
Blake has been speaking openly about motherhood as of late, often gushing about her husband and daughter both in magazines and in interviews. She revealed to Marie Claire that while James spent about six months looking like a "doppelganger" of her famous dad and one-time Sexiest Man Alive, she did inherit some of her good looks. “She has my clammy hands! And my heavy eyelids, my meaty eyelids.”
In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday (Jun. 19,) Blake took to Instagram to post a sweet message for her longtime love. Describing Ryan's parenting skills as a "mic drop," the actress added, "Happy Day, to the best one out there. (And also to all the other papas whose family thinks THEY'RE the best one)."
And even though work commitments kept Ryan from celebrating his special day with his daughter, Blake told the Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon that it wasn't a case of out of sight out of mind. "I was on a plane with my baby, James. It's kind of torture these days because I'm on a plane and everywhere I look, every screen is my husband in a sex montage ... Everybody wants to watch Deadpool on the plane. Everyone!"
She went on to add that the in-flight entertainment confused the youngster, explaining, "She starts hugging and kissing the screen and waving at him, and he's not waving back. She doesn't understand why he's not waving back at her, because she thinks it's like FaceTime."
