Selena Gomez isn't afraid to offer her former flame Justin Bieber a little dating advice. The singer, who dated the pop star on and off for four years, made a strong plea in favour of Justin's passionate fans after he waged his latest complaint – commenting that the "Sorry" hitmaker should be more grateful.
Justin, 22, took to Instagram on Sunday to ask the Beliebers to stop attacking his rumoured girlfriend Sofia Richie on social media, and threatened to turn his profiles private if the abuse continued.
But 24-year-old Selena was quick to call him out, commenting: "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only. Don't be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before any one ever did."
Clearly feeling put out by their idol's threat, many of Justin's followers thanked Selena for her support. But it wasn't long before he had a response for Selena's lesson in kindness.
"It's funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way," he quipped. "Sad. All love. I'm not one for anyone receiving hate. Hope u can all be kind to my friends and each other. And yes I love my beliebers."
Selena then quickly commented back and soon after the hashtag #SelenaEndedJustinParty began trending on Twitter.
She wrote: "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger that the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."
