'Spider-Man' star Tom Holland spreads cheer at children's hospital

British actor Tom Holland is the latest star to step into the shoes of Spider-Man and he's wasting no time getting into the superhero spirit. His first mission? Spinning a web of cheer and joy at Atlanta's Egleston Children’s Hospital.

The 20-year-old swung into the hospital on Thursday (Aug. 18) to visit with patients and pose for pictures. Donning his spidey suit, Tom even showed off some of his character's most famous moves.

From holding babies to answering fan questions, the young star went above and beyond to ensure that his visit was both memorable and meaningful.

Following the meet and greet, the actor posted a heartfelt message on Instagram thanking patients and hospital staff for giving him such a warm welcome. "Meeting you all today was such a wonderful experience and you’re all such little inspirations. We’re proud of you and we love and we hope to be back soon ❤ and thank you for having us Egleston Children’s hospital," wrote Tom.

Tom beat out dozens of actors to take on the role made famous by stars like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. He is currently in Georgia filming Spider-Man Homecoming alongside Zendaya, Michael Keaton and Iron Man's Robert Downey Jr. The hotly anticipated action flick is expected to hit theatres in July 2017.

The actor is expected to become an overnight sensation once the Marvel movie hits the big screen, but he's already a superstar in the eyes of Chris Hemsworth. The Thor actor worked with Tom in 2015's In the Heart of the Sea and made sure to inform studio executives of his talent.

Chris Hemsworth thinks his former co-star is perfect for the role of Spider-Man.

Speaking with Cinema Blend, the father of three revealed: "I ran into the guys at Marvel and said, ‘Look, you’re not going to meet a more appreciative and hard-working, talented actor, and especially, for his age. I was sort of blown away by that, and the amount of integrity and precision he has with his acting."
