A young coupled received the ultimate surprise on their wedding day when they came face-to-face with a congratulatory Tom Hanks. Speaking to Hello!, New York-based photographer Meg Miller says that Tom approached the couple and "leaned in close as he took off his hat and sunglasses and said, "Hi, I am Tom Hanks!'"

The couple invited Tom to their wedding reception, but the actor had to decline because he had dinner plans. He did inform Elizabeth and Ryan that had their officiant bailed on his duties he could have legally married the pair as he is an ordained minister. Back in 2015, Tom officiated the wedding of actress Allison Williams and Ricky Van Veen.

This is not the first time that the Sully actor crashed wedding festivities. In 1993, while filming Forrest Gump in Beaufort, South Carolina, the actor reportedly spotted bride Mary Dunning Chapman on her way to walk down the aisle. Mary later recalled the meeting to Beaufort Online, saying:

“My bridesmaids and I were walking around the side of the church getting ready to ‘walk down the aisle’ ... and this guy runs up to me! He says, “Hey, I’m Tom Hanks, and I just wanted to say good luck!” He hugged me and kissed me on the cheek!!"
