The time Deadpool hung out with Wolverine and James Bond

By Sarah Walker

What happens when Deadpool, Wolverine and James Bond meet? Apparently a hilarious photoshoot!

The trio -- who in real life are Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and Pierce Brosnan -- were snapped goofing around on a couch in what looks like a restaurant by Ryan who subsequently posted it to Instagram. It shows the Sexiest Men Alive winners posing as the three wise monkeys: see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil.

The 40-year-old actor kept the caption simple, "Wolvie. Bond. Wade."

Hugh also shared the photo, though on Twitter. His caption was similarly simple and vague. "wolverinebonddeadpool."

While no one is exactly sure how the trio came to be together, some are speculating it could be because they'll star in some sort of movie together. Ryan and Hugh already play characters who are part of the Marvel universe, though it's less clear how Pierce would fit into the picture.

One other fan theory is that the actors will star together in the much anticipated Deadpool 2. Parts for the film are currently in casting.

The film is a passion project for Ryan who championed the script to the original movie for almost a decade. While the budget of Deadpool was a mere $58 million, it broke box office records by earning over $760 million.

What's more, the flick has become a serious awards season contender. The actor was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance as Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool) and the flick won a Critics Choice statue for Best Comedy.

Ryan received his first Golden Globe nomination for Deadpool.

Speaking to GQ about the project, the Canadian spoke openly about the process of getting the film made.

"Making the movie was very, very difficult. It was the most passionate group of individuals I've ever worked with in my life. And for whatever reason, that mercurial crazy burgoo of people is what made this thing work so well, not just because I had this vision and I saw it this way and it had to be this way. It worked because we all had that feeling. But there were vaguely scary fights in the post-production process that escalated quickly. Luckily, everybody's grown up and at the end of the day enjoys and loves each other."

Deadpool 2 is slated to hit theatres at some point in 2018.
