Pippa Middleton's wedding preparations got well underway on Monday (May 15) as a large glass marquee was erected in the garden of her family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire. The bride-to-be and her fiancé James Matthews have chosen a huge conservatory-style structure for their nuptials rather than a traditional canvas marquee, with the bespoke design estimated to cost around £100,000 ($175,000).
The impressive orangery will house over 300 guests and is believed to have been shipped over to Berkshire from Belgium. The process has been overseen by Peppers Marquees, which holds the only royal warrant for supplying marquees to the Prince of Wales.
The marquee is certainly a showstopper; its glimmering glass façade can be seen from both the main road and a public footpath that runs alongside Carole and Michael Middleton's estate. It will play host to some 300 guests at Pippa and James' reception, including her sister Kate and brother-in-law Prince William, along with their two children Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
The next few days will be busy for Pippa as she ensures everything runs smoothly for her big day. However the 33-year-old took some time out of last-minute wedding preparations to attend a top London spa on Monday for some pampering. The bride-to-be was spotted leaving the Santi London beauty spa in South Kensington, described as a "beautiful cross between an uber-boutique spa and a beauty clinic", which prides itself on tailor-made treatments for its clients. The spa offers an extensive menu; from a £70 aromatherapy massage, to a £60 Santi Glow facial treatment, which combines skin polishing and oxygen infusion to fully renew the skin, and a deluxe manicure at £40.
On Saturday 20 May, Pippa and her fiancé James, 41, will say "I do" at St Mark's Church in Englefield – a Grade 1-listed country church that dates back to the 13th century. The couple have asked Rev, Nick Wynne- Jones, the resident priest at St Mark's to officiate the ceremony. Guests will then head to the Middleton family's home in Bucklebury, seven miles away, for the wedding reception.
