Olivia confessed that she first discovered that the tasty treat was helping her maintain her goal weight after watching the number on her scale fluctuate after changing up her snack game while filming X-Men: Apocalypse in Montreal.

“Two years ago when I was shooting X-Men I lost a bunch of weight working out and doing martial arts and didn't even realize it. I [reached out] for protein bars a lot because I thought that was being healthy, and then I realiz[ed] that I was putting on weight,” the brunette beauty told E! News, before adding that she included jerky in her diet after discovering its healthier ingredients.

"I love jerky first of all, but then I looked and it was a lot less sugar and carbs and it was super high in protein. It was a lot easier than carting around a Greek yogourt because that's what I was doing at the time. That's when I started levelling off my weight. I was able to maintain it because it's so delicious. It's like steak in a bag. Who knew?!” exclaimed the actress.

In addition to eating lean meats, the Oklahoma native does a variety of workouts to stay in shape, including taekwondo. “I did [it] growing up and started again for X-Men. That's the one thing I've been doing,”said the star.

And while Olivia is always game to try new workouts, there is one activity she is not willing to add to her fitness regimen and that is SoulCycle. The workout craze is beloved by many celebrities including Vanessa Hudgens, Katie Holmes, Lea Michele and Anderson Cooper, but the former Newsroom star admitted that cycling is not for her. “People go crazy for it and I just can't do it. I have to do something where there's a goal. I'll do a million squats if it means I can learn to do this 360-degree kick,” she said.
