Drake took over hosting duties at the inaugural NBA Awards on Monday (June 26) in New York, and in-between trophy presentations to some of basketball’s biggest stars, the Toronto native got the chance to show off his acting chops in a series of hilarious skits.
One of the night’s most memorable moments came when the former Degrassi star joined forces with Will Ferrell in a sketch about "handshake coaches." Taking on the roles of NBA handshake specialist Coach Palmer and NBA Dexterity Technician Coach Murphy, respectively, Drake and Will were on a mission to improve NBA players’ handshake game.

"Guys, we've seen a lot plays from you today, but your handshakes…" said the rapper, before his colleague jumped in to explain the consequences that come with having a bad handshake on the court. "Your handshakes aren't worth dog crap. If you score and your handshake sucks, we will trade you!" Will jokingly yelled to the players.
Drake further explained that athletes need to have a great handclap in order to wow the audience. "After a clutch shot, the crowd wants to see you shaking hands right? They want to see that you really are best friends," said the singer.
According to the pros, a basic handshake isn’t enough. To help put players on the right track, the duo demonstrated some impressive original maneuvers including the "Jenga," the "Gossip Queen," the "Prom," and the "Obi Wan Kenobi."
This isn’t the first time that Drake and Will have teamed up to make people laugh. The “Hotline Bling” singer had a small cameo in Will's 2013 film, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
