George Clooney is having the time of his life as a new dad to twins Ella and Alexander, despite it being a ‘terrifying’ experience. The actor and his wife Amal Clooney have kept a low profile since becoming first-time parents in June, but now the Oscar winner has opened up about how he is adapting to fatherhood.

“Suddenly, you’re responsible for other people, which is terrifying. [Amal]’s like an Olympic athlete. She’s doing so beautifully,” the 56-year-old told the Associated Press. The actor went on to say, “Right now my job is changing diapers and walking them around a little bit. I really didn’t think that at 56 I would be the parent of twins. He also revealed some fabulous life advice: “Don’t make plans. You always have to just enjoy the ride.”

Amal gave birth to the couple's twins at London's St Mary's Hospital on June 6; Alexander arrived first, at 12:54pm, followed by his sister Ella at 12:56pm. Announcing the birth of their twins in a statement, George and Amal said: "This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days."
