Eva Mendes helps Ryan Gosling celebrate SNL hosting duties

Ryan Gosling had the support of his longtime love Eva Mendes as he hosted the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on Sept 30. The couple arrived and left hand-in-hand to the show’s official after party at Tao, following the Canadian actor’s second successful turn as master of ceremonies. The couple partied alongside musical guest Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce, as well as cast member Colin Jost and girlfriend Scarlett Johansson.

The actor started the show mocking his reputation for “saving jazz,” a reputation he received thanks to his musically inclined character in La La Land. He even recruited his Oscar-winning co-star Emma Stone to help him out with the bit. And while Ryan takes his craft seriously, he proved once again that live TV gives him the giggles. Like his debut on the show back in 2015, the Ontario native repeatedly broke down in the middle of scenes following the hysterical theatrics of stars like Kate McKinnon.

After the cameras stopped rolling, it was time to party – and Ryan and Eva jumped at the chance to enjoy a kids-free night on the town. The stunning pair has managed to keep their relationship private ever since they fell in love on the set of Place Beyond the Pines in 2011. In addition to being one of Hollywood’s most loved-up couples, they are also happy parents to daughters Amada, 1, and three-year-old Esmeralda.

The two have proved time and time again that their love story is one for the books. This past January, Ryan won his first Golden Globe for Best Performance in La La Land and dedicated his win to Eva and her late brother. In an emotional speech, the 36-year-old praised his wife for raising their daughters while also helping her own brother fight cancer, who tragically passed last year.

That night, the 43-year-old was at home with their daughters, but of course tuned in to watch him win. Eva took to Instagram to give a subtle shout out to her man with a sly post. "Obviously this wasn't my favorite moment of the night....But it was definitely my favorite style moment of the night," Eva wrote alongside a pic of Hidden Figures ' star Janelle Monae in an Armani Prive gown. "The stunning and talented @janellemonae is killing me with this look. So so so beautiful."
