Glee's Dianna Agron will make her West End debut in Alexander McQueen play

On American drama Glee Dianna Agron sang and danced her way through several seasons, and now the 28-year-old actress will be singing and dancing her way to the West End. Dianna surprised her Twitter followers with the announcement on Friday, revealing: "Feels so wonderful to finally be able to say...this is happening. #McqueenThePlay."

McQueen the play will mark Dianna's stage debut. Loosely baed on the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen, the play is a fictional tale of Dahlia, a fan who breaks into the designer's home to steal a dress and is caught by Alexander.

However, instead of calling the police, the two become friends and embark on a journey through London's streets. It was written to mark the fifth anniversary of McQueen's death.

Also starring in the play, which will run from 6 May until June, will be Bluestone 42 cast member Stephen Wight taking on the iconic role of Alexander McQueen, and former EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Oberman, who will play Isabella Blow.

Friday was a bittersweet day for Dianna, who will also be a part of the final ever episode of Glee, the award-winning programme which followed the group of misfits and cheerleaers who became the glee club at McKinley High School.

Dianna was in the show for three seasons until 2012, when she became a part time cast member.

She later tweeted: "Two things to celebrate today. Ever so grateful. Xx ", and a picture of a handwritten letter to her fans.

It continued: "Tonight, the final episode of Glee. What a gift that was. Our cast, crew, and Quinn. Thank you to everyone who has helped us further our dreams.

"For your love and support from the first days, it means everything. Can't wait to bring you Dahlia xx".
