James Corden has made his thoughts on President Donald Trump's controversial immigration ban clear in a simple but effective video. The Late Late Show host – a British national who lives and works in the US – had to pre-record all his shows this week, and so is unable to immediately discuss the issue on the programme itself. Instead he chose to film himself on a "Post-Ban trip through LAX".

James Corden has issued a powerful video in response to the immigration ban

The relatively mundane video shows James arriving at LA's airport, passing through security and ordering a sandwich, before having his boarding card checked and making his way on to the plane. A message then appears on screen: "Today, James flew out of Los Angeles. So all our shows this week have been pre-taped. Freedom of movement should be this easy for all legal immigrants. Not just the white and Christian ones."

It comes after President Trump announced he was suspending the US Refugee Admissions Programme and has banned immigration to the US from seven Muslim countries. His executive order has sparked international condemnation, and protests across the globe - which James has also shown his support for.

He shared the short clip on his Twitter page

Alongside an image of a pre-refugee demonstration that took place in Liverpool on Monday, the star tweeted he was "proud" of the city for taking action. His post has since been retweeted 2,350 times and has received almost 10,500 likes.

James also previously shared the powerful statement made by British athlete Mo Farah in light of the travel ban. The message, which was posted by Mo on his Facebook page, begins: "On 1st January this year, Her Majesty the Queen made me a Knight of the Realm. On 27th January, President Donald Trump seems to have made me an alien…"

It continues: "It's deeply troubling that I will have to tell my children that Daddy might not be able to come home – to explain why the President has introduced a policy that comes from a place of ignorance and prejudice."
