Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds stole the limelight at this year's Golden Globes when the pair decided to share a cheeky kiss as fellow Hollywood star Ryan Gosling picked up his award for Best Actor In A Musical Or Comedy. Speaking about the funny moment, which was watched by millions, British actor Andrew told chat show host Graham Norton: "It was a ridiculous thing. I said to Ryan Reynolds, 'If you win, kiss me instead of your wife.' And he said, 'Yeah, that's great.'"

Ryan, who was joined by his wife Blake Lively, was nominated in the same category for his work in Deadpool. "I said to Ryan, 'We can still just do it' and he was game," Andrew explained when the other Ryan's name was called out. "And I loved that we were so deep in the background so you kind of have to look and see if it was actually real."

He revealed working with Mel, who directed Hacksaw Ridge, was something he had to "consider" before signing up for the Oscar-nominated role. "Obviously you hear things and you read things about a dark patch in his life but for me it was about meeting him," explained Andrew. "All I knew was that I loved him as an actor and as a filmmaker but I wanted to know the man."
