After months of teasing fans with scrumptious photos of her culinary creations on Instagram, Chrissy Teigen has finally announced that her cookbook Cravings is now available to order (Feb. 23). “It’s here!” tweeted the model alongside the book’s cover art. Dressed down in jeans and a button-up shirt, the mom-to-be looks right at home in the kitchen, surrounded by some of her delicious dishes.
Chrissy describes her recipes as “food you want to eat” and worked with food writer and recipe developer Adeena Sussman and Top Chef Masters judge Francis Lam to bring her first cookbook to life. The foodie was involved in every aspect of its creation, right down to styling the photography.
The 30-year-old made sure to include some of her mother’s recipes in Cravings, including dishes like papaya salad and spicy Thai basil chicken. “A lot of the recipes come from my mom, who is Thai. Her rice porridge, or jok, is the recipe I go to when I'm sick. You form pork, peppercorns and ginger into little meatballs and boil them in the rice mixture, which breaks down and gets so creamy,” she told Food and Wine magazine.
Cooking has always been a family affair for the star, who loves whipping up meals with her husband John Legend. “We love working together in the kitchen,” she told People earlier this year, adding that some of the “All of Me” singer’s creations made the cut in her book. “I am using John’s fried chicken and mac and cheese recipes yet putting my own mark on them,” she revealed.
