Canadian stars team up with Suetables for personalized Canada Day jewelry line

We women express ourselves through clothing and accessories, but there’s one element in particular that lets our personality truly shine – our jewelry.

Which is why Hello! was especially excited to hear about a fashion collaboration that is taking “what it means to be Canadian” to a decidedly stylish new level (and just in time for Canada Day!).

Teaming up with Suetables – a Canadian company that specializes in custom pendants and charms – homegrown actresses Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue), and Rachel Skarsten (Lost Girl) and Lauren Lee Smith (The Listener) have unveiled a jewelry line that reflects each star’s interpretation of national pride to a tee.

For Enuka, her architectural, x-shaped “kiss” cuff represents her passion for a country that celebrates all cultures and races. “The ‘kiss’ is an expression of my love for Canada,” she said. “For me, Canada is about freedom and acceptance.”

Lauren Lee, who hails from “Van-groovy” Vancouver, went the boho-chic route with a woven macramé friendship bracelet that features a sterling maple leaf. Of the design she said, “This friendship bracelet is a great piece to remind yourself (or a friend) to remember home."

Toronto-born Rachel likes to take a piece of home with her wherever she goes, too, so she opted for a simple, beautiful charm that can be personalized and added to any bracelet, which helps remind her of her roots when she is travelling.

Best of all, 20 per cent from every purchase will go towards the national non-profit Evergreen, which helps to create greener, sustainable Canadian cities.

“Our company’s philosophy has always included giving back to the community, so it was a no-brainer,” said Sue, the founder and designer who decided to celebrate her company’s 10th anniversary by giving back. "Evergreen is the perfect fit as our connection to nature is so integral to our Canadian identity."

The exclusive Canada Day pieces will be available for purchase on July 1 at Suetables.com.
