Have you ever coveted a stranger’s shoes/bag/skirt, but were too embarrassed to ask where she got them?
Kate Bosworth has the sartorial solution for you – in the form of a new fashion-based iPhone app called Style Thief.
Basically Shazam for clothing, the app allows users to snap a photo of a fashion item, do a quick image search and shop for the item online in a matter of clicks.
The fashion-identification premise promises to be a step ahead of the tech curve, boasting the ability to “snap and steal” any article of clothing you see on the street or in a magazine with ease.
“Everyone has fashion envy,” Kate told Women’s Wear Daily.
“Everyone can relate to that feeling of looking at an editorial, for example – or a friend, or the runway, for that matter – wanting to steal something exactly as you’re seeing it, or something similar.”
Kate, 31, is renowned for her elegant sense of style, and even launched her own Topshop collection last year.
She joins another young, blond actress who is turning her celebrity into big business. Blake Lively, 26, is poised to launch her Goop-inspired lifestyle website, “Preserve,” this week.
