Tavi Gevinson's persona is no longer a fashion exclusive.
The 18-year-old former blogger has joined the Broadway ranks, starring in This is Our Youth with Michael Cera and Kieran Culkin, and founded the thriving Rookie site for teen girls in 2011.
Naturally, her ‘It Girl’ status has landed the teen several magazine covers this year, including the October 2014 issue of Nylon.
The young upstart launched her Style Rookie blog in 2008 when she was just 11 years old, and one particular Comme Des Garcons-themed rap caught the world's attention and landed the precocious 'tween a front-row seat at fashion weeks worldwide.
From there, Tavi visited Toronto to speak at Moses Znaimer’s Ideacity in 2010, was included on Forbes’ ‘30 Under 30’ list in 2011 and 2012 and was cast alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus, James Gandolfini and Toni Collette in the 2012 feature film Enough Said.
The Chicago native shows no signs of letting up, and in honour of her most recent cover, we look back at Tavi’s history of being on the front page of magazines across the globe.
