With her husband King Willem-Alexander by her side, the 43-year-old queen greeted Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako of Japan in a 1950s-inspired orange dress – the Netherlands’ national colour – paired with metallic pumps and a matching belt.

But it was at a Japanese state banquet where Máxima truly turned heads, dazzling in a glamorous gold gown paired with her royal sash and a glittering tiara.

The mother of three continued her fashion tour de force in South Korea, where she wowed in a gorgeous champagne-coloured dress and matching cape. The elegant number featured a mint-green pattern on the waist, which Máxima teamed with a pair of jade earrings and a jade bracelet.
